Vermilion Community College Update

Chris Koivisto was named Interim Provost/Chief Academic Officer for Vermilion Community College (VCC) in December 2020.  This appointment is planned to last approximately 18 months, after which time leadership positions across NHED will be redesigned as part of the VisionNE merger.  Mr. Koivisto has been a faculty member at VCC since 2002 and has served as MSCF chapter president for several years.  Chris was a

to has been a faculty member at VCC since 2002 and has served as MSCF chapter president for several years.  Chris was a member of the NHED Regional Academic Planning process that led to VisionNE, and he currently serves on the VisionNE Faculty Leadership Workgroup.   Outside of the college, Mr. Koivisto serves as a school board member for ISD 2142 and zoning officer for the city of Babbitt among other volunteer community activities.
