Completing The Mesabi Trail
Sarah is the Deputy Director of the St. Louis & Lake Counties Regional Railroad Authority.
Born in Chisholm and raised in Chisholm and Arizona, Sarah moved back to MN 11 years ago. She worked with private sector clients, government agencies and local governments doing stormwater & drainage calculations, sewer & water design and analysis and project design layout. She was a contracted project designer for several segments of the Mesabi Trail. One year ago she became an employee, the Deputy Director of the Regional Railroad Authority. The Railroad Authority was formed in 1986 and tasked with acquiring abandoned railroad corridors to maintain as alternate transportation corridors. The first acquisition was the Northshore Scenic Railroad from Duluth to Two Harbors. Then the Mesabi Trail started in 1995 with the first two segments built in 1996. The construction of the final segment of the Mesabi Trail is from West Two River into Tower, which is planned for in 2024.
Sarah is married, has two young children and lives in Hibbing.
