Angela Campbell and Kurt Soderberg welcomed the members on Zoom. Kurt gave a brief summary of the Board meeting held Monday night. Our club will be donating up to $4,000 to the Ukraine Relief effort via The Rotary Foundation Disaster Relief Fund. We will offer members and the general public to donate via mail and the website. Draft minutes of the special Board meeting held Monday night were attached to the meeting announcement today. Longtime member and former President, Sarah Guy-Levar has left our club to join one in St. Paul where she now works for Metro State University as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.

 

 

Former Rotarian, Robyn Bertelsen, joined us to give us more information on the clubhouse. This is one of three organizations under the heading of Well Being Development, the other two being the Behavioral Health Network and Pathways to Wellness. The Clubhouse itself is located in the lower level of the former bowling alley on Camp Street. Despite having to close down for extended periods during the pandemic, it is now open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 to 3 and welcomes people to come for socialization - anyone who is in recovery or with behavioral and mental health issues. Anyone who seeks socialization is also welcome to come in to this warm and comfortable location.

 

Their funding is from grants, particularly from the CARES Act, and funds from federal to state to county sources. They are working to provide an ongoing funding plan into the future.

 

Some of what they have offered include meals, a book club, meditation, as well as activities via Zoom such as a "Let's Make..." cooking class.
