Angela Campbell - Outgoing President
Angela has lived in the Ely area for over 30 years and has been a resident of the City of Ely for 20 years. She attended the University of South Dakota and the University of Nebraska.
She has served the community as a member of several boards and committees, including:
The Burntside Lake Homeowners Association (past president), International Wolf Center Board, Bear Center Board, Ely Area Development Association, Ely Storefront/Rehab Loan Committee, and the Ely Heritage Preservation Committee, and Design Review Board. She is a board member and president of the Rotary Club of Ely.
She presently serves on the Ely City Council and the following city commissions and committees: Housing and Redevelopment Authority, (Chair), Ely Heritage Preservation Commission (Founding member), Ely Economic Development Authority, Donald G. Gardner Humanities Trust, Planning and Zoning Commission, Range Area Municipalities and Schools (Alternate).

Tom Moore - President Elect
Tom is a Paul Harris fellow. He grew up on Lake Superior’s north shore, in Silver Bay, and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BS degree in Business Management. He worked in the areas of business and community development, industrial development and economic development for the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, St. Cloud Opportunities and the St. Cloud Area Economic Development Partnership. Tom and his wife Cindy Faye Johnson, are now retired and living on Eagles Nest Lake Three.
Business:
Kurt Soderberg made a motion to accept the board and board members, Ward Nelson motioned to second. All members approved.
Approval of Board members for 2024-25 has been approved and based on the organization’s Bylaws, the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary was elected by the members at the June 19th meeting.

Tom thanked Angela for her service and welcomed the board and board members
Angela was presented a roadrunner statue as a momento for her service. Tom reminisced of a story involving Club Runner and infamous roadrunner
Tom reviewed his vision for the club including:
Working board roles to maintain engagement
Budget for '24 -'25 has been approved
Adding exchange student funding as this took place after the budget approval
FUNdraising - Rose sale and Casino Fun Night
Visioning session revealed the club would like more hands on projects
Changes to meeting style
One less regular meeting
Add one social meeting a month
First will be on 7/24 with a Mojo BBQ. More to come with a flyer.
Expanding capacity
Update the website
International Service Project in 2025 in partnership with St. Cloud and other clubs
Offer a scholarship for a member to participate
Emphasis on welcoming nature of Rotary
Ward Nelson leader for Rotary International Foundation
Work on cancelling truly inactive members. Lisa Ledl will lead this project
We celebrated Angela's service and welcoming Tom as the president with cake, appreciation and applause. Thank you Angela, for your leadership of our club the last two years. Tom, we look forward to your leadership and vision for the next two years. Thank you both for the review of the past and looking to the future. We continue in strength, commitment and friendship together.
