Members were welcomed to the meeting. President Campbell reviewed important actions of this week's Board meeting, including the approval of Lacey Squier as our newest member. Ward Nelson presented Terri Olson with her pin recognizing her as the newest member of the Paul Harris Fellowship. Terri also reports that our snowman for the Northwoods Partners fundraiser had already exceed $155. Next week will be our last meeting until 2023, but our Holiday Party is on Thursday, December 8th.
Lynn Evenson - Ely Winterfest
Ely Winterfest originated in 1984, in conjunction with the Wilderness Trek ski race from Ely to Tower. It has evolved over the years from a Voyageur theme to more of a community wide program, with snow sculpting exposition, Ely Art Walk, and a Film Festival this year.
The event runs from February 2nd to February 12th, 2023.
She showed us snow sculpting tools, discussed the Kuub tournament, and events in conjunction with Dorothy Molter Museum. Lynn reminded us of the future presentation of "Frozen" this spring with special permission from Disney, as well as the Sunday matineee presentation this weekend by the Mesabi Symphony at Washington Auditorium.
